Katana Natasha is stepping out onto the world’s stage! She’s got exciting news as she’s been recently asked to be a part of some great entertainment projects. One offer came to be the lead in a new Broadway play and another as an actress with roles in two different feature films. She’s going back to her roots where throughout high school and the years following, she performed in plays and musicals every year growing up. “Acting comes naturally for me, especially when I love the roles I’m playing”, says Katana. “I completely throw myself into the characters and love pretending I’m actually that person. When I was young, I wanted to be an actress, but later found myself singing more in the church, so I didn’t pursue acting further, except for productions and concerts. The thought that I can actually do both now is very exciting for me, especially because I’m at the age where I really don’t care about what people think of me. I can be bold and really go for it and put myself out there. You know when you’re young – it’s all about what other people think about you. For me, growing up, it was very much that way. I was such a people-pleaser. But now I’m not worried about that anymore. I like me and am ready to step out without fear and be brave. I think this new attitude will help me make both my singing and acting even stronger at this age.”  Katana has starred as the leading role in many musicals throughout her life including, “Annie”, “Grease”, “Gigi” among many others, including original musicals and plays written by herself and others, and recalls her favorite as playing the character of the beloved Mother Mary every year at Christmas time in the musicals in Fresno, CA. “The one year that stands out the most to me and was by far my favorite role, was when I had just had my son William. He was only four weeks old and I was cast as the lead role of Mary and he got to play baby Jesus. As I held him in my arms and sang songs to him and with the people, it was really incredible. It brought the whole story to life for me and I got to feel what Mary must have felt. It was so special and a moment I will never forget”, says Katana. So now as she prepares for her new singing and acting debuts, she’s ready to step back out onto the stage and revive a a life long passion that comes naturally to her. In doing so, she hopes to make others happy and feel inspired to reach for their dreams at any age because NOW IS THE TIME!
